PRESENCE” rather than Presents.

During this giving season, our minds often turn to giving gifts. This month’s challenge is to give “presence” rather than “presents”. Consider who needs you. Who needs time with you? Who needs a hug? A message? A smile? A listening ear? Who needs you? It is a busy time of year and the gift of time can be the greatest gift of all. Challenge yourself to connect, really connect, with someone special, someone who is missing you, someone who is lonely, someone in need of connection. Take time to reach out.

We know that Molly had a rare and special gift of connecting with others. She reached out to all of us often, never missing a special occasion or an ordinary opportunity to lend an ear and share her beautiful and reassuring words.

So this month, instead of buying presents, BE PRESENT! It will be a wonderful gift to others and ultimately, a gift for you as well. What is your commitment to “presence” for others?

Please share your ideas for “being present” and share this challenge with others.

And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
