My Molly,
I can’t believe it has been 4 years since I’ve been able to hug you in this life.
While still experiencing very real and unimaginable pain, I also can experience actual, real, incredible joy. It’s because my daughter is alive. You are very much alive. Because you were given the greatest gift there is, the gift of baptism. And you lived a beautiful life of truth as we have all been asked to live.
Of course when I think of you my princess, it’s an enormous tragedy – for you and us. We can’t help but think that you didn’t get to accomplish so many things you wanted and worked for. You didn’t get to be married. You didn’t get to be a mother. You didn’t get to continue the virtuous research and development you were doing to help others live a better life. Your gift of giving to others.
But then I think this. There is nothing you could have accomplished in this life, nothing that remotely compares with what our heavenly father has already accomplished for you because you lived the life of a baptized Christian, . . . NOTHING!
The greatest accomplishment in life has been done for you, been done to you, by a God who loves you, because you are his and always were his. Heaven, what happens on the other side of this life is real life, and it lasts forever for you.
You are alive my Molly, more alive than all of us still here in this life right now.
I love you and miss you my baby,
Dad
