The Beacon of Light Award is Molly’s Miracles’ newest way of distinctly honoring those who bring light to the world and help carry Molly’s light forward.
We are so honored to present the inaugural award to Mrs. Kathy Gappinger of Chaparral High School in Parker, Colorado!
Mrs. Gapp was Molly’s Student Government advisor and teacher. She knew Molly not just as a name on schoolwork, an application, or simply as another kid walking the familiar halls, but as a real student in her classroom and throughout the school.
She knew her to be one who showed up, contributed, and cared about the people around her.
In the last four years, Mrs. Gapp has actively worked to connect students to the Molly Anne Corlett Memorial Scholarship. She has championed it, and in doing so, has spread Molly’s light and legacy.
Each year, she talks with students about Molly, the foundation, volunteering opportunities, and the available scholarship.
She is a light in the halls of Chaparral High School, bringing warmth, kindness, encouragement, and genuine care to the students and staff who cross her path each day. She has a way of making people feel seen, supported, and valued.
In a place filled with busy days, challenges, and countless faces, Mrs. Gapp takes the time to notice people, to encourage them, and to remind them that they matter.
Her light reaches far beyond her classroom and her role as a teacher. It is woven into the culture of Chaparral and the surrounding community. It touches the lives of the many students and staff who have the privilege of knowing her.
In so many ways, she embodies exactly what Molly’s Miracles hopes to honor: someone whose presence makes the world around her a little brighter.
Thank you, Mrs. Gapp, for being a BEACON OF LIGHT for so many!
